Mouser and Onsemi to present webinar on SiC JFETs
Distributor Mouser has partnered with Onsemi to present a new webinar for the engineering community titled 'How SiC JFETs Are Transforming Circuit Protection and Power Electronics'. This free-to-attend webinar will take place on 2nd December 2025 at 17:00 CET.
The webinar will be hosted by Mark Patrick, technical content director, Mouser Electronics in EMEA, and will feature Shusun Qu, application engineer, Onsemi, as the guest speaker.
SiC JFETs have the potential to transform solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs), offering higher efficiency, faster switching, and improved thermal performance. In this expert-led session, participants will learn more about the performance gains SiC JFETs deliver in SSCBs, including faster switching, lower conduction losses, and improved thermal efficiency.
Participants will discover design approaches for compact, high-reliability SSCBs using SiC Combo JFETs, supported by real-world test data and proven engineering practices. Another area of focus will be how gate driver compatibility streamlines the transition from silicon to SiC, minimising redesign effort and accelerating power electronics development.
Three Onsemi products will be featured. These are the UG4SC 750V 8.4mΩ Combo-FETs, a device combining a SiC JFET and low-voltage MOSFET for normally-off operation and robust high-energy switching; the UJ4N 750V 4.3mΩ Normally On SiC JFET Transistor, a compact JFET providing ultra-low on-resistance for space- and thermally-constrained SSCBs and relays; and finally the UG3SC 1200V 7.6mΩ Combo-FET, a combined SiC JFET and MOSFET that delivers low on-resistance, improved speed control, and simplified paralleling for high-power applications.
